Question: Choose two of the principles of professional practice in youth and community job investigated on the course and discuss their particular significance to get the career. Illustrate this with a example or circumstance studies coming from professional practice, which display how you have used reflecting practice to work, with an ethical dilemma/professional conflict with regards to the selected principles.

The 2 principles mentioned in this composition are integrity and partnership. The explanations of these will be defined to demonstrate the relevance, they have (in practice) pertaining to the role of the junior and community worker. Once again both principles have been chosen to highlight honest dilemmas or perhaps conflict which may have emerged within working practice, which will be shown within two separate case studies. In respect to Debbie banks (2004) the term ethics has been identified in several techniques, the 1st being the norms people follow around their worth base which will views items as right or wrong or good or bad. Studies of moral norms give attention to theories around right activities, how people make judgements, duties, conscious care, all of which are referred to as descriptive ethics. Banks argues, that there is vast amounts of literature written about ethics within other areas of health and medical care when compared with social occupation such a youth and social work (Banks 2004)

Within the National youth work agency statements of moral principle and conduct junior workers have to: Treat the younger generation with respect, respect and promote young people's legal rights to make their own decisions and choices, Encourage and ensure the welfare and safety of young people, add towards the campaign of sociable justice pertaining to young people and in society generally. Practise with integrity, empathy, courage and competence. (NYA 2004) The first basic principle (treat teenagers with respect) has been linked to German philosopher Emmanuel Kant' who primarily based his ethical philosophy within the principle of respect. Solid wood and Hine (2009) offer a general brief summary of the nationwide youth organization principles upon ethics simply by highlighting that ethical rules in children work are about youth workers relating to each young person as worth attention, regardless of the they have performed, and argue that young people are usually stigmatised, degraded treated unfairly, because of their lack economic and political power. For this reason wooden and Hine suggest that youngsters workers need to work harder to put into action these concepts, when working with additional professionals, whom give goal to their personal value, such as welfare and safety. (Wood and Hine 2009)

Sarah banks (2004) make the level that integrity can affect practitioners at different levels and defines the between ethical issues, challenges and issue. For example Moral issues pervade youth work practice in that it takes place in the framework of state-sponsored systems of welfare and control in which matters of needs, rights, duties, hobbies, relationships, motives and the repair or transgression of existing norms are at stake. Ethical problems occur when the staff member faces a hard situation, in which a decision has to be made, although where there is no dilemma for the person deciding that is, it is clear which will course of action to consider. And Ethical dilemma happen when the junior worker confronts a decision-making situation concerning a difficult choice between two alternatives and it is not clear which choice would be the right one....
